FAQs

If you see lines or stripes on the screen of the unit this can be caused by a light source affecting the image picked up by the camera. Try turning the baby unit (camera) away from the light source or move it further away from an interfering source.

Interference may occur when the parent unit and baby unit are too far away. Try moving the units closer to get a better signal. Interference may also occur if there are too many walls or ceilings between the parent unit and the baby unit or when other 2,4 GHz wireless devices are switched on (e.g. DECT phone, microwave, wireless devices). Put the parent unit in a different place, closer to the baby unit, or switch off other wireless devices. This issue may also occur if the rechargable battery of the parent unit is low. If this is the case then recharging the battery should improve the signal.

The baby unit consumes a lot of energy when you have the video display switched on continuously, when you play lullabies or when the nightlight is switched on. We recommend to always use the baby unit from the mains and use the batteries for back-up purpose only. Do not place rechargeable batteries in the baby unit, as they discharge slowly even when they are not in use.

The parent unit may be in the automatic screen activation /voice activation mode. Press the automatic screen activation button / voice activation button again to switch on the video display.

The Baby Unit will also pick up other sounds than just those of your baby. Here are some options that you can use to decrease th pick up of surrounding sounds. The Baby Unit is too far from the baby. The Baby Unit will pick up other sounds than those of your baby. Move the baby unit closer to the baby (but observe the minimum distance of 1 metre/3.5feet). The baby unit is too close to another sound source. Move the baby unit away from that sound source (eg. window).

The specified operating range is only valid outdoors in open air. Inside your house, the operating range is limited by the number and type of walls and/or ceilings between the parent unit and the baby unit. Do not hold the loop of the parent unit as it contains the antenna. It is important not to block it during use as this reduces the operating range of the units. Hold the parent unit on its body or place the unit on the table during use to ensure optimal operating range performance.

The display brightness may be set too low. Increase the display brightness. Also make sure that the protective foil which is on the unit when new is removed for the best picture quality.

  1. When the parent unit has been charged for the first time, the operating time is less than the time mentioned in the manual. The rechargeable batteries only reach their full capacity after you have charged and discharged them at least four times.
  2. The volume of the parent unit may be set too high, which causes the parent unit to consume a lot of energy. Decrease the volume of the parent unit.
  3. The microphone sensitivity level of the baby unit may be set too high, which causes the parent unit to consume a lot of energy. Decrease the microphone sensitivity level (with the SENSITIVITY button) on the parent unit.

Check if the baby unit is turned on. The baby unit may not be connected to the power supply. Connect the unit to a power supply. The baby unit and the parent unit are probably close to the outer limits of the operating range or there is interference from other 2,4 GHz wireless devices. Try a different location, decrease the distance between the units or switch off other 2,4 Ghz wireless devices.

Please note that it takes about 5 seconds each time before a connection between the units is established. Do not cover or hold the upper part of the parent unit during use as this reduces the operating range of the units. Hold the parent unit on its body or place the unit on the table during use to ensure optimal operating range performance.

The parent unit may be in the automatic screen activation /voice activation mode. Press the automatic screen activation button / voice activation button again to switch on the video display.

If the parent unit beeps while the out-ofrange image appears on the video display, the connection with the baby unit is lost. Move the parent unit closer to the baby unit. If the parent unit beeps while the battery/power-on light and the battery symbol on the video display flash red, the rechargeable battery of the parent unit is low. Connect the parent unit to the mains to recharge the battery. The baby unit may be switched off. Switch on the baby unit.
