FAQs

You can use any type of shaving foam or gel available from the supermarket or pharmacy with your wet & dry shaver. If you have sensitive skin, however, we advise you to use a shaving foam or gel for sensitive skin.

If you already tried recharging your shaver, you could try the following: This shaver is designed to be used with emulsion, foam or gel or in the shower. For safety reasons, this shaver does not work when it is connected to a power outlet because electricity and water are a hazardous combination. The only thing the shaver does when it is connected to a power outlet is charge the integrated battery. It charges through an adapter that converts the voltage from the outlet to a safe low voltage. Nevertheless, we urge you to keep the shaver and the adapter away from water during charging. The adapter is not waterproof. The shaving unit may be soiled or damaged to such an extent that the motor cannot run. Clean the shaving unit thoroughly or replace it. You may not have reassembled the shaving unit properly after extra-thorough cleaning.

If the appliance still does not work, take it to your local Philips dealer or contact the Philips Consumer Care Center on the right side of this page.

It is normal to receive a two-pin plug for a bathroom product (shavers, trimmers and toothbrushes), as this is the standard plug used for charging from your bathroom shaver electrical socket. If you do not have this electrical socket in your bathroom, you can buy a simple two-pin to three-pin adapter separately.

This signal reminds you to replace the shaving heads of your shaver. New shaving heads guarantee continued optimal shaving performance. How to reset the reminder signal: The replacement reminder is repeated at 7 to 10 successive shaves, depending on the model. Press and hold the On/Off button for approximately 5 seconds to reset the reminder.

Regular cleaning is important to maintain an optimal shaving result. After every shave:

  • Turn the shaver on.
  • Rinse the shaving unit under a hot tap.
  • Turn the shaver off.
  • Open the shaving unit.
  • Rinse the inside of the shaving unit and hair chamber under a hot tap for 30 seconds
  • Reassemble the shaving unit and carefully shake off excess water.
  • Let the shaving unit dry completely.

Every 2 months: Clean the shaving heads.

Yes, you can safely use it in the shower or bath and rinse it under the tap.

After cleaning, water may drip from the shaver for a while because some water may collect between the inner body and the outer shell during cleaning. The inner body is completely watertight and water cannot reach the electronic parts of the shaver, so your shaver continues to be absolutely safe.

There is nothing wrong with your shaver. This shaver is designed to be used with foam or gel in the shower. Your shaver will tell you when its battery is running low. It is equipped with a battery-low indicator that starts to flash orange when there is just enough energy in the battery for 1 shave.
