Open the cover. Insert the battery pack. While pressing the battery lock lever, insert the battery pack as illustrated. Make sure that the battery lock lever locks after insertion. Closing the cover with the battery inserted incorrectly may damage the camera.
1) Connect the camera to the AC Adaptor (supplied), using the micro USB cable (supplied). 2) Connect the AC Adaptor to the wall outlet (wall socket). The charge lamp lights orange, and charging starts. Turn off the camera while charging the battery. You can charge the battery pack even when it is partially charged. When the charge lamp flashes and charging is not finished, remove and re-insert the battery pack. For some countries/regions, connect the power cord (mains lead) to the AC Adaptor, and connect the AC Adaptor to the wall outlet (wall socket).
The charging time is approximately 230 min. using the AC Adaptor (supplied). The charge lamp lights up and then turns off immediately when the battery pack is fully charged.
To make your Cyber-shot camera last longer, regular cleaning should be done. Take proper care of your camera, and keep it away from dirt, dust, marks or fingerprints. What you need to clean your camera - Blower: Used to remove dust and debris from the body and from inside the camera. Cleaning cloth: Used for wiping the camera and lens clean. It is recommend to use a chemical fiber cloth, which can be used repeatedly by washing. It can easily remove grease marks that can get on the LCD screen. Follow the steps below to remove dirt, dust, marks or fingerprints on the camera. Blow dust off the camera using a blower. Open the lens cover. There are two ways in making the lens visible on Cyber-shot cameras. Either turn the camera on and switch to shooting mode, or slide the lens cover open. With the lens cover open, blow dust off the lens and then wipe the lens softly. Turn off the camera and make sure the lens cover is closed, and then wipe the entire camera with the cloth. IMPORTANT: Remove the battery in the camera if it will not be used for a long period of time. Leaving the camera without charging for about a month will clear the Date/Time setup. Setting up the Date/Time again will allow you to use the camera again.
Locate the RESET button on the camera. Use a pointed object (like a ballpoint pen) to press and hold the RESET button for 2-3 seconds. After 2-3 seconds has elapsed, release the RESET button.
Make sure the computer meets the system requirements of your camera and install the supplied software and camera driver if necessary (confirm that you have administrator rights). Check if the [USB Connect Setting] of the camera [setup-menu] is set to [AUTO] or [Mass Storage] and the storage card is inserted and correctly detected inside the camera. Confirm that the battery of the camera is sufficiently charged or use an AC-adapter (available as accessory). Connect the camera directly to an USB port that is build into the computer using the USB cable that was supplied with the camera; do not use a port replicator or USB hub. connect camera to pc with USB. Turn the computer on and wait until it has booted completely. Depending on your computer and the operating system the computer should now automatically detect the USB connection from the camera and install the appropriate driver. A confirmation message will be displayed in the taskbar when you are ready to use the device. If the Auto Play window does not pop up check if the camera is listed as a removable disk in the Windows Explorer. Note: If the “Device Stage” window does not open when you connect the camera to a computer equipped with Windows 7 or later, set [USB Connect Setting] to [Auto]. If the camera is not detected check the following things: Disconnect devices from the USB jack of the computer other than the keyboard, mouse, and your camera. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer and your camera, and restart the computer, then connect the computer and your camera again in the correct order. Connect the camera to another USB port. Connect the camera using another USB cable.
