FAQs

Ensure the pressure is released from the trigger gun. Remove the metal U-shaped pin securing the hose into the outlet pipe on the back of the machine (for    premium units unwind the hose fully from the reel to remove the U-shaped pin).

1.) Remove the grey seal from the top of the plug 'n' clean detergent bottle.

2.) Turn the bottle upside down and insert into the recess on the back of the Pressure Washer.

3.) Turn the Vario lance to the 'Mix' position to begin use with the detergent.

In order to be able to regulate the pressure that the Pressure Washer generates using the Full Control trigger gun you will need to sync the 2 devices together.

Please see our handy video below on how to do this here.

Ensure your machine is set up correctly;

1. Your garden hose should be at least 25ft (7.5m) in length and fully uncoiled from any reels when in use with your Pressure Washer.

2. A free-flow connector (with no restrictions for the water) should be used to connect the garden hose to the machine.

3. A non-return valve / aqua-stop connector should only be used on the tap end of the garden hose.

4. If using an electrical extension lead, please ensure this is no longer than 10 metres in length.

5. Always ensure the filter inside the inlet of the machine is free of dirt and debris (this is located behind the black connector on the water inlet of the machine).

Your Pressure washer may have an air block;

1. Disconnect the Pressure Washer from the electricity supply.

2. Remove the black high pressure hose from the outlet of the machine. (If your machine has a hose reel, remove the trigger gun from the hose and leave the hose connected to the machine).

3. Connect the garden hose to the inlet of the machine.

4. Turn on the water supply but leave the machine unplugged from the electricity supply.

5. Leave the water running through the machine for a period of 5-7 minutes.

6. Re-connect the black high pressure hose.

7. Squeeze the handle of the trigger gun to draw the water through the hose and into the gun until water exits from the lance.

8. Plug the machine back into the electricity supply and turn on at the on/off switch.

9. Squeeze on the trigger gun.

If this does not resolve the problem, please contact the Karcher support team (www.karcher.co.uk/support)

To remove blockages from your lances:

1. Soak the spray lance in a solution of warm, soapy water.

2. Insert a pin into the nozzle of the lance to push out any dirt which may be blocking the nozzle.

3. Rinse under clean running water to remove any dirt or detergent residues before commencing use.

If the blockage has not been removed, replacement lances for K2 & K4 Pressure washers are available to purchase on Argos. Alternatively, you can contact Karcher  (www.karcher.co.uk/support)

If the pressure washer turns off or splutters, try the following:

  • Clean the nozzle insert.
  • Check if you are using the right nozzle.
  • Check if there is enough water coming out.

If the issue remains, please contact the support team using the contact details on this page.

If the motor doesn't start, check the following:

  • Check the power supply and mains fuse.
  • Check the main switch and spray gun.
  • For extension cables of 10 m or longer, the diameter must be at least 2.5 mm².
  • Completely unwind the cable drum.

If the issue remains, please contact the support team using the contact details on this page.

If the pressure washer is not drawing up the cleaning agent, check the following:

  • Fill up the cleaning agent container.
  • Rinse out the vacuum filter with fresh water and clean it. Once you have finished cleaning with cleaning agent, you should rinse the device out with fresh water to prevent the filter from clogging up.
  • Check the suction hose for damage.
  • Take the cleaning agent hose on the device and, using a thin object, push back the valve on the hose nipple so that it moves smoothly.
  • Start the flow and set to low pressure.

If the issue remains, please contact the support team using the contact details on this page.

If the pressure washer is not building up pressure, check the following:

  • Connect the device to the water supply and turn on the tap.
  • Remove the filter from the water inlet and clean it.
  • Switch the pressure washer on without the steel pipe and allow it to run until there is no more air coming out of the spray gun.
  • Check whether you are using the right accessories.

If the issue remains, please contact the support team using the contact details on this page.

If the appliance isn’t starting, we recommend checking the following:

  • Check that it is plugged in securely and the plug turned on.
  • Trying an alternative mains plug socket.
  • Replace the fuse in the plug.

If the pressure is fluctuating, we recommend checking the following:

  • Check that the hoses, connections and attachments are airtight and secure on the appliance.
  • Inspect the pipes for any kinks and bends and adjust to straighten.
  • Remove and clean any pumps or seals.
  • Check that the inlet hose from the tap is secure and airtight.
  • Try turning the tap down slightly as the pressure from the tap may be too high.
  • If the inlet is leaking, then this will need to be tightened securely as it would indicate the flow from the tap could be causing the fluctuation.

If the appliance stops during use, we recommend checking the following:

  • Check that the hoses, connections and attachments are airtight and secure on the appliance.
  • Inspect the pipes for any kinks and bends and adjust to straighten.
  • Wait 10-30 minutes to allow the appliance to cool down if used for an extended period time.
  • Clean all nozzles in case debris has become dislodged.
  • Check that the inlet hose from the tap is secure and airtight.
  • Check that the tap is still on and running. If water stops flowing from the tap, the appliance may halt operation.

If you find the hose is leaking, firstly ensure the connection is secure by tightly fastening the hose to the unit. You should also check the hose and end connections for any signs of damage; if damaged, you may need to replace the hose or end connections.

If it is still leaking, ensure that the tap is turned off between uses. If the tap stays on when the unit is not in use, then the hose will fill with water and the pressure can cause it to leak from the connection.

If the pressure washer starts but no water comes out, we recommend checking the following:

  • Ensure that the tap is turned on and fully open.
  • Check that the inlet hose from the tap is secure and airtight.
  • Check that the hoses, connections and attachments are airtight and secure on the appliance.
  • Inspect the pipes for any kinks and bends and adjust to straighten.
  • Remove and clean any pumps or seals.

If you find the pressure is too low, firstly check which attachments you are using and the distance from the surface you are cleaning. Some attachments may be designed for a closer range, whilst others are designed to be sprayed at a distance. Check the user manual for more information regarding attachments.

If the pressure still seems low, we recommend checking the following:

  • Ensure that the tap is turned on and fully open.
  • Check that the inlet hose from the tap is secure and airtight.
  • Check that the hoses, connections and attachments are airtight and secure on the appliance.
  • Remove and clean any pumps or seals.
  • If you have attached any extended hoses this can reduce the water pressure. Check your user manual for any maximum lengths of hose pipes or extensions that can be used.
