If the device has any issues with the Bluetooth connection there are some steps you can try to rectify this:

  • Check that the device is using the latest software.
    • Either say 'Go to settings' or swipe down and select Settings.
    • Select Device Options.
    • Select Check for Software Updates.

  • Ensure the Echo is positioned away from other devices that may cause inteference. Devices like microwaves or other wireless devices can interfere with the signal.
  • Ensure the device is close to the Echo when pairing.
  • Try unpairing and repairing the devices.
  • Try pairing any Bluetooth devices to another device to check if other devices experience the same issue.
  • Try rebooting both the Echo device and the desired device to pair with.

Note: If your device loses internet connection and won't reconnect, first try to Restart Your Alexa Enabled Device. If that doesn't work, or if your device has intermittent connectivity issues, try the following:

  • Make sure that your Echo device is within 30 feet (or 10 meters) of your wireless router.
  • Check that your Echo device is away from any devices that cause interference.
  • Check that your router is working with other devices.
  • If you have several devices connected to your Wi-Fi network, turn some of them off  temporarily.
  • If your Wi-Fi password recently changed, Update the Wi-Fi Settings for Your Echo Device or Update the Wi-Fi Settings on Your Echo Show.
  • If your device is still having intermittent connection issues, Reset Your Echo Device.

Ensure any desired devices are ready in pairing mode.

  1. Either say 'Go to settings' or swipe down and select Settings.
  2. Select Bluetooth.
  3. Select the device from the list of devices to connect to.
