Most bathroom scales are pre-calibrated but often require re calibrating if moved or surface is changed.

To check accuracy, place the scales on a hard, flat surface (not carpet), step on once to wake them up, step off, wait for “0.0,” then step on again to weigh yourself.  

“Lo” usually indicates low battery power. Replace the batteries with new ones of the correct type. After changing the batteries, allow the scales to reset before use.

An error message can appear if the scales are overloaded, placed on an uneven surface, or if weight is applied before the scales have fully reset. Step off the scales, place them on a flat surface, wait for “0.0,” and try again.

To reset the scales, remove the batteries and leave them out for 30–60 seconds (this performs a power flush). 

Reinsert the batteries, place the scales on a hard, flat surface, and step on briefly to activate them. 

Wait for the display to return to zero before weighing yourself.

Inconsistent readings are often caused by uneven flooring, carpeted surfaces, low batteries, or moving during weighing.

Always use the scales on a hard, level surface, stand still, and weigh yourself at the same time of day for best consistency.
