Blenders may overheat and shut down if there is too much strain put into the motor and blades. If this happens, turn the unit off and unplug. Allow it to cool down and check for any food debris that may be caught in the blades and overworking them. Remove any debris, and start again.

We recommend doing shorter pulses of blending rather than blending for a long time to avoid overheating.

Yes, slow cookers are designed for unattended cooking. However, it's important to follow safety guidelines, place it on a stable surface, and avoid leaving it near flammable materials.

If the slow cooker is taking longer to cook than usual, check the following:

  • Ensure the lid is tightly secured to maintain the temperature to cook.
  • Check that the correct cooking temperature/time has been set.
  • Check that the appliance has not been overfilled as this will result in longer cooking times.

Uneven cooking can be due to improper layering of ingredients. To rectify this, cut the ingredients into similar sizes for even cooking.

You should also avoid lifting the lid during cooking, as this can cause heat loss and uneven temperature distribution.

Condensation is normal during the process of cooking in a slow cooker due to the steam produced. You can minimise the condensation by ensuring the lid is tightly fitted and isn’t lifted frequently during cooking.
